LIZZO PHOTO SHOOT – collections 2013
Our big photographic shoot has recently concluded and we cannot be happier with the results. We are very excited about the 2013 collection, and are confident that our images will clearly represents the quality and inspiration of the new fabrics that define the essence of the brand Lizzo.
It seems so long ago that we were exploring global cultures to draw inspiration from the main artistic movements, drowning ourselves in wonderful print designs, sophisticated colors and texture for the creation of our new exquisite collections and very soon now, we will finally share them with all of you!
It’s all very exciting, and it is the culmination of very hard work from the whole Lizzo´s team. Our collection 2013 will debut in Paris Déco Off next January and will go on our website, on the blog and on the rest of our social media.

Estamos entusiasmados con el maravilloso resultado de la sesión fotográfica de Lizzo, que tuvo lugar la semana pasada en diversas localizaciones de nuestro país.
Hace muy poco, estábamos inmersos en la selección de de diseños, coloridos y texturas para la creación de las nuevas colecciones, y ahora por fin os las podremos mostrar. Para nosotros en un momento muy emocionante ya que se trata de la culminación de un arduo trabajo de todo el equipo de Lizzo al completo.
Nuestra nueva colección para el 2013 se presentará en la próxima edición de Paris Déco Off que tendrá lugar en enero, pero muy pronto os mostraremos algunas de las imágenes a través de nuestro blog y del resto de redes sociales.

Paris Déco off, one of the most important annual events on the world of decoration, is approaching fast. For the 4rd consecutive year, Paris Déco Off 2013 will take place from 17th -22nd January 2013.

PAUL CRAIG PHOTOGRAPHY FOR LIZZO
Today we would like to present you Paul Craig. He is the photographer behind some of the wonderful photos taken in our showroom in the UK. When we saw his work, we fell in love with it and wanted to count on him for an exiting new project, Lizzo’ s own line of furniture, which was presented to the public during Focus in London.
According to Paul, his passion for photography began at an early age; “I has always taken pictures. My mum still has the first picture I ever took when I was just a couple of years old. It's a black and white portrait of my mum and dad with part of their heads missing, taken at a strange angle with my grandfather's camera”.
He commented regarding how he got his passion about interior design photography. “I shot my first magazine cover of a minor celebrity at 16, but I didn't try interior photography until much later, by chance when a designer asked me if I would take some pictures of a house. It seems stupid now, but I hadn't considered marrying my love of photography and interior design. The way light falls through a window onto a beautifully designed piece of furniture gives me goose bumps.”
About his work with Lizzo he said, “The Goya sofa is a wonderful piece of design, it's deceptively simple. It has incredibly beautiful lines and each angle surprises you with something unexpected. Lizzo products are classically beautiful, yet absolutely contemporary. Everything has a depth and a richness which immediately sets it apart. I've fallen in love with the Velvet Library Intense and I'm going to design a piece of furniture for my bedroom using the grey.” He also added, “ my job is much easier when you love what you are taking pictures of. It also helps when the client is creative and fun. I had a great day collaborating with the amazing Lizzo team on this set of images, and I think it shines through in the results.”
The result is an attractive Lizzo´s furniture catalog intended for the English market but also soon be available in other markets. We hope you like.

PAUL CRAIG FOTOGRAFÍA PARA LIZZO
Hoy nos gustaría presentaros a Paul Craig. Él es el fotógrafo que hay detrás de las maravillosas imágenes que hemos realizado recientemente en nuestro Showroom de UK.
Según nos comenta Paul, su interés por la fotografía comenzó a muy temprana edad: “Yo hago fotos desde siempre. Mi madre todavía conserva la primera foto que hice con apenas 2 años. Se trata de una instantánea en blanco y negro tomada con la cámara de mi abuelo, desde un extraño ángulo donde aparecen mis padres, a los que les falta parte de la cabeza”.
Sobre cómo comenzó su pasión por la fotografía de interiores, Paul añade:“Hice mi primera portada a los 16 años pero no empecé a fotografiar interiores hasta mucho mas tarde cuando me lo ofrecieron por casualidad. Ahora me parece una tontería no haber pensado antes en unir mi amor por la fotografía con el diseño de interiores; la forma en la que la luz entra por una ventana e ilumina una pequeña parte de un mueble, me pone la piel de gallina.”
Cuando vimos sus fotos y su forma de trabajar, nos enamoró y por eso quisimos contar con él para un gran proyecto, una línea propia de muebles que se presentó durante la semana de Focus en Londres.
Sobre su trabajo con Lizzo Paul nos dijo: “El sofá Goya es una maravillosa pieza de diseño, es aparentemente simple pero tiene líneas increíblemente bellas y sorprendentes. Los productos de Lizzo tienen una belleza clásica aunque son totalmente contemporáneos. Todo tiene una gran profundidad y riqueza que lo distingue. Me he enamorado de la colección de terciopelos, tanto que voy a diseñar un mueble para mi dormitorio con el color gris.” También añadió, Mi trabajo es mucho más fácil cuando me gusta lo que fotografío. Por supuesto, ayuda que el cliente sea creativo y divertido. Pasé un día estupendo trabajando con el increíble equipo de Lizzo y eso creo que se nota en los resultados obtenidos.”
El resultado es un atractivo catálogo de muebles Lizzo dirigido al mercado inglés pero que muy pronto estará también disponible en el resto de mercados. Esperamos que os guste.

SANDBERG TEAM VISIT OUR SHOWROOM IN LONDON
Not too long ago, LIZZO UK, exclusive distributor of SANDBERG in the country, was very pleased to receive at their showroom in Chelsea Harbour Center in London, a delegation of this prestigious Swedish company dedicated to the manufacture of wallpaper and fabrics. Among the guests noted the presence of founder Örjan Sandberg well as one of the top designers, Sissa Sundling. They talked about their passion for interior design, sources of inspiration, philosophy of work and know how.
It was an unforgettable day, where Sandberg and Lizzo shared ideas, projects and dreams that for sure will strength their bonds. From Lizzo, we would like to thank Sandberg for their visit and the great support provided at their booth in Decorex and FOCUS '12.
It was during Focus, when we received the good news of the award obtained by one of Sandberg´s wallpapers by the magazine Living ETC. The wallpaper reference HEDWIG, from Edward collection, won the award “best of the best geometric wallpaper FOCUS '12". We would like to congratulate our friends at Sandberg and wish them many more successes.

TATUM, A NEW INTERIOR DECORATION SHOWROOM IN MALAYSIA
A new stylish interior design showroom has recently opened in Kuala Lumpur where Lizzo´s fabrics are beautifully displayed.
The person behind this elegant place is Gerardine Loggere, sister of Suzane Loggere from Loggere Wilpower, a leading trading house for international fabrics and for some years now, Lizzo´s agent in The Netherlands. Gerardine worked at Loggere Wilpower for many years during which she got to know Lizzo´s collections and fell in love with them.
She later joined Marcel Wolterinck in Holland, a well-known international designer of residences, offices, restaurants, etc. For many years she lead the styling department and was involved in number of projects in the Netherlands, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Russia… Lizzo was one of the main brands that she specified for her projects due to the quality and design of its fabrics.

Recientemente se ha inaugurado un nuevo showroom de decoración en Kuala Lumpur, donde se pueden encontrar maravillosamente expuestas todas las telas LIZZO.
La responsable de este elegante espacio es Gerardine Loggere, hermana de Suzane Loggere de Loggere Wilpower, una importante empresa líder en el sector textil y desde hace algunos años, agente de Lizzo en los Países Bajos. Gerardine trabajó en Loggere Wilpower durante muchos años y fue allí donde conoció las colecciones de LIZZO y se enamoró de ellas.
Más tarde se unió a Marcel Wolterinck en Holanda, un conocido diseñador de interiores, oficinas, restaurantes, etc. Durante muchos años ella lideró el departamento de diseño y ha participado en diversos proyectos en los Países Bajos, el Caribe, el Mediterráneo, Rusia ...
Lizzo fue una de las principales marcas seleccionadas para sus proyectos debido a la gran calidad y diseño de sus telas.
Ahora comienza con gran entusiasmo y experiencia, su propio negocio en Malasia y según dice " Lizzo sigue siendo su inspiración". El nuevo showroom es más que una sala de exposiciones, es una tienda de concepto global donde se pueden comprar también velas, tazones, fragancias para el hogar, libros y cojines hechos con telas de diferentes colecciones.

GREAT STAND AT DECOREX JOHANNESBURG 2012
Decorex Johannesburg is South Africa’s largest décor and design exhibition. For this year edition, held in Midrand from the 8th to the 12th of August, our distributor in the country ST LEGER & VINEY together with LIZZO, sponsored SLIC CONSULTING´s fabrics and wallpaper for their beautiful and sophisticated stand.
Elaine herself chose to use our fabrics in her stand, “LIZZO is one of my favorite international brand and its unique style represents me”, she said. “LIZZO´s beautiful designs allows me to create spaces in an understated yet sophisticated way”, she added.

Elaine Barber, founder and owner of Slic Consulting, just started this business after many years as a Sales Consultant in the South African fabric industry. Her sales experience and creative ability to help decorators find the right interior solution for homes and hotels, has resulted in her Interior Decorating business being successful from the start. Her company is able to create contemporary and glamorous spaces enhancing local tastes with global inspiration, which transforms ordinary into personalised luxury and comfort. To suit all customers’ needs, The Studio has a professional design team capable of confidently dealing with the requests of Harrods' most prestigious and demanding customers, from the traditional to the contemporary ones and everything in between.

TENDENCIAS DE DECORACIÓN OTOÑO-INVIERNO 2012-13
Las tendencias en decoración para el próximo año, son un claro reflejo del colorido de las pasarelas de moda. Destacan los tonos mostaza, verde azulado y coral que se combinan con tonos naturales, caquis y tierras.
Los rojos intensos y los morados cobran protagonismo como tributo al lujo decadente e intemporal. Como consecuencia de la recesión mundial, se observa en la decoración una gran tendencia a mezclar lo antiguo con lo nuevo, así como a utilizar tejidos lisos. De esta forma, piezas antiguas y clásicas se combinan con telas de tacto rústico, dando paso a un estilo más informal y a un glamour más sobrio.

LIZZO SAYS GOODBYE TO HABITAT VALENCIA 2012
Since last September, from the 18th to 22nd, the stand of Lizzo has been receiving continuous visits of Spanish and international visitors that were interested in knowing first-hand Lizzo’s trends and latest collections. Lizzo was one of the key brands in the Editor Textiles area.
Habitat Valencia has closed its doors with a positive review "the results have exceeded the expectations of most exhibitors," said José Blanco, president of the fair. And one of the main reasons is the large number of foreign buyers from both new and established markets who came to the fair.
The next edition of Habitat Valencia will be from the 17 th to 20th of September 2013. It will be a very special edition as it commemorates 50 years since the first Spanish furniture fair.

La Feria Hábitat Valencia ha cerrado sus puertas con una valoración positiva “los resultados han superado las expectativas de la mayoría de fabricantes”, comenta José Blanco, presidente de la feria. Una de las razones de mayor peso ha sido la alta asistencia de compradores internacionales, tanto de mercados ya establecidos como de nuevos mercados.
La próxima convocatoria de Feria Hábitat Valencia ya tiene las fechas elegidas: del 17 al 20 de septiembre de 2013. Además, será una edición muy especial al conmemorar los 50 años desde el nacimiento de la primera feria del mueble española.

LIZZO HAS COLLABORATED ON A NEW SPANISH TELEVISION SERIES "ISABEL"
This week, the new TV series called "Isabel" has been successfully released. The series chronicles the palace intrigues in the royal Spanish court in the late 15th century.
Isabella I Queen of Castile, nicknamed “the Catholic”, was a woman ahead of her time, who struggle for power hitherto reserved only to men.
Lizzo has collaborated in the production of this series with some of its stunning fabrics that have been used mostly for period costumes and set designs. We invite you to enjoy this historical series and find out our Lizzo fabrics in each scene...

Esta semana se ha estrenado con gran éxito de audiencia la nueva y esperada serie “Isabel”. La serie narra las intrigas palaciegas de la Corte española de finales del siglo XV.
Isabel l de Castilla, conocida como Isabel “la Católica”, fue una mujer adelantada a su tiempo que luchó por alcanzar el poder reservado hasta entonces solo a los hombres.

OUR DESIGNER´S SELECTION
The Sonora fabric from the Arizona Collection is our designer´s selection for this long hot summer… A printed linen with a bold floral motif, developed in a pictorial manner and inspired by desert flowers. To create it, we have followed the aesthetic principles of Georgia O’Keefe, the North American painter who lived and worked in New Mexico during the 20th Century and who was known mainly for her paintings of enormous flowers and desert landscapes. Regarding this color, we were inspired by the pale blue combined with navy blue, taupes and whites that dominate designer Dries Van Notten Autumn-Winter collection 2012-13.

LA SELECCIÓN DE NUESTRA DISEÑADORA
El diseño Sonora de la colección Arizona es la propuesta de nuestra diseñadora para este largo y cálido verano… Se trata de un tejido de lino estampado con motivo floral de gran formato, elaborado de una manera pictórica e inspirado en las flores del desierto. Para desarrollarlo hemos seguido las premisas estéticas de Georgia O’Keefe, pintora norteamericana que vivió y trabajó en Nuevo México, conocida principalmente por sus cuadros de grandes flores y paisajes del desierto.
